Daimler AG is one of the world’s most successful automotive companies. With its divisions Mercedes-Benz Cars, Daimler Trucks, Mercedes-Benz Vans, Daimler Buses and Daimler Financial Services, the Daimler Group is one of the biggest producers of premium cars and the world’s biggest manufacturer of commercial vehicles with a global reach.
As one of the leading vehicle manufacturers, we are continuing to gather pace and to firmly shape the future. Because the mobility of tomorrow will be fundamentally different – our customers’ expectations are becoming more demanding and more diverse in increasingly dynamic markets. To stay ahead, we are focusing on four strategic fields of action. We want to strengthen our economic basis with profitable growth in the global core business:
- CORE – strengthening the basis further: We use our earning power to shape the transformation in the automotive industry.
- CASE – driving forward transformation: To this end we are investing in the future areas Connected, Autonomous, Shared & Services and Electric with the goal of strengthening our core business in the long term.
- CULTURE – innovative, flexible corporate culture: To effectively support the transformation we are renewing our corporate culture together with our employees.
- COMPANY – trendsetting positioning: With the repositioning we intend to use market chances even better in future.
We are convinced that overall, we are more effective, quicker and more successful – on the way to the leading position with the next level of mobility.
Gender diversity is about men and women having equal opportunity in the workplace, because together they make our company even more successful. Women represent an important segment of the market and bring other important perspectives to the table in their work.
So it is our goal to increase the proportion of women in executive management positions across the Group worldwide to 20 percent by 2020. We are measuring and documenting the progress that is being made. In this way we can ensure our staffing decisions are transparent, structured and justifiable.
In order to reach this goal, we have developed a wide range of measures. These include various loyalty and development programs, diversity workshops, leadership events (some designed especially for women, some for both men and women), and several mentoring programs.
