Power electronics software component manager for electric drives (f/m/x)

Working environment

The “Development Driving/Energy” department is responsible for the development of drive and suspension components for Audi and many other users in the entire VW Group.

We develop efficient, precise, safe, and energy-efficient power electronics components such as pulse-controlled inverters and DC/DC converters.

The range of tasks extends from the definition of requirements, development, and testing to the approval of the components in the vehicle. The pulse-controlled inverter plays a key part in modern electric vehicles: It is the electronic centerpiece of the power unit and has a key influence on the driving behavior, safety, efficiency, and ecological behavior of the vehicle. Our range of tasks extends from specification, function development, application, and testing to the approval in the vehicle.

Tasks

  • Your responsibility ranges from the requirements analysis, the development of the software architecture and software design to the integration and approval of the software modules in the overall system
  • You will implement hardware-related software for power electronics, including the documentation of the development activities in line with ASPICE in the automotive environment, ensuring compliance with quality and safety standards

Engineer for the functional development of steering systems (f/m/x)

Work Environment
The “Chassis Systems Development” organizational unit in the “Driving/Energy” development area is responsible for
“level 3” systems – the wheels/wheel guidance system, steering, and brakes. These systems are absolutely critical to
achieving the driving experience typically associated with Audi vehicles and deliver important enabler technologies for
electric and assisted/automated driving.

In this context, steering systems in particular are subject to a whole range of new requirements. As an engineer for
the functional development of steering systems, you work on live series production projects and are responsible for
developing and implementing the functions and features critical to the customer experience. You will also focus here
on new technologies (e.g. steer-by-wire systems) as well as on the special requirements they entail and degrees of
freedom they afford. In close collaboration with internal and external partners, you will be involved in the
development of lateral assistance functions – from the initial architectural work through to implementation,

Vorsprung durch Technik is the consistently pursued goal in Audi electronics development. Nowadays, information
technology has become an integral part of this. Due to the increasing complexity of our innovative new functions and
their increasingly distributed implementation, however, new risks arise with regard to possible manipulation of our
vehicles.
Minimizing these risks is the task of the Product Security Testing / Incident Response department within the Electrics
/ Electronics Development Security division.
As part of the E / E security team, you ensure in the central team of incident responders / penetration testers through
penetration tests, for example, that the security measures used in the vehicle effectively minimize the risks. In
addition, when the risk arises, you work with your colleagues on the technical analysis of security incidents in the
vehicle.
