Strategic Category Manager

What’s the role?

You will be accountable for the long-term supplier relationships of your portfolio to ensure best class customer service level, cost savings and resilience. You will outline sourcing strategies to support innovation and differentiation.

You will be responsible for three main areas of activity:  all Supply topics of a product line, commodity management and suppliers and the coordination of improvement projects and strategies between our team and other departments. What does the role involve?

You, as a Strategic Category Manager, will act as a real “Sparring partner” to the business unit’s Head of Supply. The scope of activities is broad and can touch different areas, such as the overall business unit’s supply footprint and presentations to Hilti’s Management.

You will be responsible for the Sourcing, Purchasing & Logistics deliverables for a product line and is member of this product line project team, meaning you heavily contribute to its strategy, product development and profitability.

You will manage selected commodities of components and services and/or directly sellable products. The activities include material group strategies development, supplier relationship management, negotiations, Supply improvement projects together with different internal and external stakeholders.

By creating and implementing all activities through methods, tools and strategies you improve how supply is managed in the business unit.
