Electrical Lead Engineer (f/m/d)

How You’ll Make an Impact 

  • Overall responsibility is based on securing customer contracts and related specifications in tenders and projects according to the schedule for the assigned electrical scope of supply and services and the fulfilment of related tasks
  • Overall project reporting regarding engineering progress, technical clarifications, and engineering hour consumption
  • Technical management of the ETEC project team in close cooperation and communication with the project engineering manager and project management as well as with other relevant stakeholders (e.g., your line manager)
  • Implementation, steering and control of electrical design process with focus on related concepts, BoQs and technical specification provision
  • Identification and proactive managing of risks, opportunities, and claims
  • Monitoring of on time delivery of deliverables, quality, and electrical engineering hour consumption
  • Ensure QA, EHS within electrical scope and tasks
  • Supporting the construction site with electrical installation and commissioning, as well by defining assembly procedures
  • Supporting the Project Engineering Manager to identify and minimize non-conformances
  • Managing of internal and external suppliers including handling of primary-, secondary and layout interfaces

What You Bring

  • Master’s or bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Energy Management or related fields
  • Experience in managing electrical engineering of large projects
  • Experience in project management and managing of intercultural teams
  • Advanced experience in solution projects (proposal and execution phase)
  • Advanced English language skills
  • Advanced experience in intercultural collaboration and cooperation with international clients, consortium partners and suppliers
  • Proactive communication style and good coordination skills

Field Service Engineer (f/m/d)

A Snapshot of Your Day

 In your work in Field Service, you are mostly on site with our customers. There, you will represent Siemens Energy and actively contribute to the energy transition. Through your contribution, you will ensure the trouble-free operation of our customers' assets. By testing protection systems as well as optimizing controls within the respective process environment, you ensure the quality of our deliveries and help conserve resources. Feedback of on-site experience to the engineering teams ensures that our product, the industrial steam turbine together with its control technology, is subject to continuous improvement.

How You’ll Make an Impact 

  • Autonomous commissioning of control and process systems, of steam turbine plants in new construction and service up to handover to the customer
  • Carrying out initial or repeat tests on protection and control systems, as well as control optimization and troubleshooting
  • Commissioning of turbine control systems with associated HMI

What You Bring

  • Successfully completed studies in the field of mechanical engineering, process engineering, mechatronics, or electrical engineering or similar, preferably with a focus on power engineering or automation technology, or professional experience gained through several years of work in a similar field. Graduates are being trained.
  • Enjoyment of practical work, ideally with completed vocational training prior to the degree program
  • Knowledge of sensor and actuator technology in the power plant sector and especially that of turbomachinery is desirable
  • Knowledge of Siemens automation technology (Step7 with CFC, WinCC, PCS7 and T3000) desirable
  • Strong team spirit
  • Business fluent German and fluent English, further language skills desirable
  • High willingness to travel, worldwide
  • Driving license class B (Germany)

  • Configuration and commissioning of server and client hardware

R&D Engineer (f/m/d)

In your new role as a Senior R&D Engineer (f/m/d) for Power Systems you will develop, lead and conduct R&D projects related to the portfolio offered by our Siemens Energy Grid Consulting team.   • Active collaboration with customers, research institutions, and industry partners to push innovation by demonstrating their insights and experiences to co-create and co-design new services and solutions that better meet the needs, preferences, and expectations of our customers
  • Maintain close collaboration with SE grid consulting teams to understand their project needs and translate them into well-structured and impactful R&D proposals
  • Identifying R&D grants and funding opportunities from government agencies (BMBF, EU, DOE, etc.) and lead end-to-end proposal development and submission process, ensuring consistency to guidelines, timelines, and quality standards
  • Developing mathematical models in RMS and EMT for different transmission and generation system components (e.g., HVDC, FACTS, Machines, etc.) in relevant simulation tools (e.g., PSS/E, PowerFactory, PSCAD, etc.)
  • Designing and creating automation and software tools to improve the accuracy and efficiency of conducting power system studies
  • Developing innovative mathematical algorithms and computational techniques for planning and analyzing electric power systems

What You Bring

  • Completed university degree in electrical power engineering (master or PhD degree) or similar
  • Several years of professional experience in power system analysis in generation and transmission systems
  • Sophisticated skills in the field of electric power generation and transmission systems, power electronics, renewable generation, power system planning and development, power system dynamics and electro-magnetic transients.
  • Shown knowledge of typical power system simulation programs (e.g., PSS/E, PowerFactory, ETAP, PSCAD/EMTDC) and programming languages (e.g., Matlab, Python, Fortran).
  • Experience in control theory with a focus on control algorithms for electric power and energy systems
  • Experience in writing and leading government proposals (e.g., BMBF, EU, DOE) for research grants.
  • Good communication skills in business- proficient in English, German is a plus
