CARIAD is a 100% subsidiary of Volkswagen Group. With about 9 million vehicles sold annually, it is one of the largest automotive groups on the planet and unites loved car brands like Volkswagen, Audi, or Porsche and many others. CARIAD is on a mission to build one unified software platform and tech stack for all these brands, enabling them to excite their customers with always-fresh digital experiences. Established in 2020, around 5,500 developers, engineers and designers worldwide unify their knowledge at CARIAD to not only transform the Group to a software-driven car company, but to transform the car into an automotive experience that is seamlessly integrated into our digital life. Our home base is Germany, but we are about to establish campuses in different parts of the world. Currently, around 5,500 international software developers and engineers from over 90 different nationalities work in software competence centers in Wolfsburg, Ingolstadt, the area of Stuttgart, Berlin and Munich. Also, we are closely co-operating with Volkswagen’s development teams in Seattle and Silicon Valley as well as China.
