Job Purpose

The Packaging Graphic Designer is responsible for development of the graphic designs that are related to the CatalystTM design services. You will adapt brand designs to the right packaging formats and manage the printed output needed for our physical prototypes. And be responsible for management of the digital proofing printers and print media.

ABOUT CATALYSTTM

The Amcor Innovation Centre – Europe will be the home of the new CatalystTM team. The CatalystTM team is responsible for the ideation, designing and prototyping of packaging concepts to support the customer engagement.

The Packaging Graphic Designer is a new non-existing role that needs to be shaped. You will work alongside our current industrial packaging designer and prototype designer and will support with graphical design and adaptations for virtual and physical prototyping. A knowledge of packaging artwork, prepress and colour management is required to create the virtual and printed prototypes.

Principal Accountabilities

  • Manage graphic design and printed/unprinted mock-ups related processes according to customer or project requirements.
  • Design and adapt efficient packaging layouts, and create packaging mock-ups from provided digital art, and specifications or from scratch.
  • Support the creation of formal and informal technical drawings- Die-Lines - as part of designing a final package container based on project CTQs.
  • Be hands on producing physical packaging mock-ups – wide range of package styles and formats - flexible, rigid components and hybrid.
  • Ensure digital files’ artworks are set up to meet printing specifications and are in the best form possible to expediate the manufacturing process.
  • Manage the digital proof printers and print media. Implement color profiling and color calibration on the printers
  • Capable of utilizing the documented customer’s brand guidelines and understand the client’s product and process specification in order to present Graphic design solutions that meets the customer needs.
  • Be familiar with the terms, tools, procedures of the production graphics departments.
  • Workflow planning (considering priority shifts)

  1. Formal Qualifications and Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in Graphic Design or industrial design preferred
  • Must have understanding of digital graphics, printing process and techniques, desktop publishing software and how they apply to the printing processes.
  • Must have strong understanding of semiotics, ergonomic and design concepts. Must have visual culture, market and packaging visual communication standards and aesthetic principles.
  • Must have strong physical mock-up production capabilities and be able to evolve and use the appropriate tools.
  • Expert with Adobe Creative Suite & Artpro. Knowledge of GMG or XRite color management.
  • Worked with flatbed or roll-feed proofing printers.
  • Digital, Flexographic & Rotogravure printing experience preferred - Basic understanding of packaging flexible materials and converting processes preferred

Job Purpose  

Management and execution of assigned Product Development projects within BU’s market.

As the Product Development Engineer you will lead and/or participate in customer related and segment driven platform projects, new product and product line extension projects, and more complex raw material changes, from the idea to the implementation phase. You will have an active participation in the development of products / concepts / technologies. Our Product Development teams interact with customers and raw material suppliers within their market area of specialization, as well as collaborate with the Plant Technical teams in the scope of new products development projects.

  • Responsible for managing the day to day activities related to the new product development projects (NPDs)
  • Responsible for the documentation and communication of the progress to the Product Development Manager and other selected persons

Field Technical Service Engineer

JOB PURPOSE 

The primary purpose of this role is to provide regional field service support at customer sites to identify and develop New Business Opportunities with existing product portfolio.

This includes support for New Product trials, troubleshooting of problems on customer equipment (film or machine related), and supporting resolution of quality issues. The role also serves as a liaison with machine suppliers, working with them to ensure a close link with Amcor in effort to secure new business opportunities. The role reports to the Field Technical Service Manager.

JOB DIMENSIONS & SCOPE

  • Rapidly deliver new sales through the field service support of new business opportunities at customer sites
  • Support is regionally based, so regularly working with customers across different markets is anticipated
  • Maintain close contact with sales, R&D and customers and communicate project regularly
  • Execute on field service calls, following up with detailed field service reports to enhance communication internally and externally
  • Autonomously maintain schedule and work with the sales team to best meet the schedule needs of the customers

Responsible for driving strategic fiber-based packaging R&D projects from base research to product launch with a strong focus on Amcor’s Sustainability targets. This global role requires a collaborative, flexible and dynamic approach, having close links with multiple R&D teams, manufacturing sites, marketing, product management, sales and customers, to deliver breakthrough innovations leading to long term sales and profitable growth.

Job Dimensions & Scope

The Research Engineer will be responsible for engineering projects related to fiber based packaging both in the flexible and the (semi)rigid space. This includes base material research, as well as developing/carrying out materials analysis related to the fiber space including but not limited to repulping, mechanical characterization, and surface characterization.

Principal Accountabilities

  • Responsible for running R&D projects; specifically, projects will focus on fiber material engineering to be further used in converted products.
  • Identify clear targets and project costs. Meet project plans, create regular project up-dates and monthly reports

Job Purpose

As Senior Research Engineer you will be responsible for managing and closing Core R&D wet chemistry (with focus on paper applications) development platform technologies, projects and concepts through to product launch to succeed the Amcor sustainability agenda. The role requires close links within the Global Core R&D organisation, Regional Segment R&D teams, Procurement and Plant Technical Teams in order to generate and deliver profitable growth through new product developments.

Job Dimensions & Scope

You will manage your own wet chemistry development projects and formulate new recipes. You will represent the Core R&D wet chemistry team in project meetings with Regional Segment R&D, Procurement, Plants, etc. on a Global scale. As Senior Research Engineer you will organize and co-ordinate the work in the project team, set priorities in alignment with the needs of the business and ensure project delivery on time. Working closely with key internal customers globally like Segment Product Development and Procurement, you will be the key contact for these teams on technical questions, relating to wet chemistry and raw materials, specifically in inks and adhesives. You will also be the key contact for our Technical Procurement team and raw material suppliers for this raw material groups.

Principal Accountabilities

  • Responsibility for running, following-up and closing Core R&D wet chemistry building block developments on time. Responsibility for technical customer satisfaction (internal & external), support trials and customer projects launch. Development of wet chemistry formulations internally & with suppliers. Considering sustainable solutions vs. existing formulations.
  • On hands wet chemistry formulation, including practical work / application on diverse substrates.
  • Organizing / co-ordinating wet chemistry development projects and setting priorities.
  • Represent the Core R&D wet chemistry team in project meetings.
