Software Engineer

Division:

The Group Business Solutions (GBS) division ensures the competitiveness of Euroclear by delivering reliable and sustainable IT solutions for the financial securities markets. Our technical teams deliver new IT solutions and improve existing applications for both our internal and external clients. We deploy changes into the production environment in a controlled and structured way that doesn't compromise production stability, and we ensure applicative production support.

You will join an IT division and be at the heart of the development projects of our information system

In your day to day activities, you will have to collaborate with different teams in order to deliver solutions to our customers, based on existing applications and the group's assets in a distributed environment, Mainframe or Cloud.

The organizational context is hybrid and agile transformation is ongoing. Projects are managed, depending on the context, either in waterfall mode either in agile mode.

The GBS Windows unit is looking for a software engineer being a key member of the team, responsible for analysis, development and on-boarding of enabling technology for boosting the unit's expertise from a technology perspective.

As an expert software engineer you will :

  • be the Application Owner of a given set of applications and define actively on design and architecture of new patterns in collaboration with architecture, infra experts and dev lead
  • be responsible for the delivery ensuring it meets market best practises and high quality
  • explore new technologies, tools, software keeping in mind stability, performance, development, availability and give proper training, KT to teams
  • coach junior designers and developers to ensure the consistency and coherence of the implementation
  • become, overtime, a technology SPOC for the team in regards to newer technologies
  • deliver high quality documentation and products
  • provide support to teams having difficulties to implement or integrate complex solutions - technology or functional oriented

Qualifications

You have:

  • at least 7 years of experience as senior IT software engineer / architect
  • significant experience in introducing technologies in a complex IT landscape
  • be a DEVOPS advocate and apply its principles daily
  • experience in delivering cross functional multi platform designs
  • very good analysis & investigation skills; ability to break down complex problems and develop solutions
  • ability to operate in a changing environment and to participate to the change
  • excellent communication skills (verbal, written, active listening)
  • proven experience to effectively delegate tasks and responsibilities while maintaining overall control
  • assertiveness in driving tasks to completion
  • experience with offshoring
  • experience of agile practices and methods, especially TDD, DevOps , test automation and continuous delivery pipeline
  • experience in a financial regulated environment is a plus

Mainframe Security Engineer

 

Division : Group Technology Services

Role and Responsibilities:

We are looking for a Security Engineer to join the Mainframe team.

  • Provides expert technical advice and counsel in the design, monitoring and improvement of IT security systems.
  • Assists on high level security design of new applications or implementation of packages, to ensure secure operation within the environment.
  • Provides security support to security staff and application developers during resolution of security production problems.
  • Makes recommendations for changes and may implement agreed enhancements.
  • Maintains effective relationships with external suppliers to ensure appropriate levels of support.
  • Coordinates support, providing hands-on security support where necessary.
  • Keeps abreast of the latest security technologies and understands the commercial/risk drivers for his/her work. Provides enhancements to existing security products,

End to End Solution Architect

 

Division: Group Technology Services (GTS)

Group Technology Services plans, builds and runs the global infrastructure of Euroclear, and is additionally responsible for the IT service management to the operating entities of the various Group markets. The division operates its IT systems and IT services in such a way that, at an appropriate and benchmarked cost level, it can deliver the agreed levels of service to support the requirements of the business processes, for both normal operations and during disaster recovery.

The new team member joins the Open Systems Group (handling the distributed world ON-PREM, from virtualization till data services (databases) including Linux and Microsoft related technologies) within the GTS division that is in charge of maintaining the IT-Infrastructure used to host all Euroclear applications.

In the context of an initiative/ a project, you define, document, and deliver practical and cost-effective end-to-end solution design for Open-Systems Team or across divisions to meet business needs and non-functional requirements while ensuring design compliance with enterprise architecture standards and principles and quality standards and by reusing existing delivery’s standard solutions and design patterns/ Blueprints.

You identify and recommend suitable products or solutions to meet the target architecture including contributing to the tender as a solutions expert and act as the liaison between enterprise architecture, solution designers and IT engineers to ensure alignment of the end-to-end solution design with enterprise architecture standards, principles, best practices, and domains target architectures. For that purpose, you provide mentoring and guidance to solution designers and engineers.

 

Role & Responsibilities:

  • You have a leading role in identifying/ aligning the vision and strategies, the long-term objectives together with the different Product Owners in the team.
  • You will develop business cases for major evolutions of our IT capabilities, and you syndicate a wide range of senior collaborators within business and IT to develop concrete architecture deliverables.
  • You act as a main partner in development and aim to implement an enterprise transition to DevOps practices.
  • You will be the central point of contact for the best methodologies including architecture principles, tools, patterns and develop architecture policies, standards and solutions together with the other squads in the Group.
  • You will provide mentorship and facilitate consistent application of standard practices.
  • You share your experience and vision to build awareness with business partners, IT and operational teams.

Required qualifications:

  • Extensive experience and a record of achievement in designing and building end-to-end solutions for a large and complex service industry organization
  • A good understanding of every part of systems: Windows, Linux, Virtualization, Storage, Databases, Analytics.
  • Widespread experience in identification, definition and documentation of standards solutions and design patterns
  • You have worked for more than seven years in the IT industry and have proven experience working with senior management and co-workers.
  • You have assisted on governance function to ensure good quality practices are considered in all new system designs.
  • You have experience in crafting concrete strategies and to deliver (implementation paths, with clear outcomes and continuous measurement of progress).
  • You have excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.

Junior DevEngineer

Division:

By joining the Group Digital and Capabilities Division, you will be joining an international and geographically spread team that, through strong collaboration, articulates the business strategy and engages the company to deliver and grow profitable products & services. The Role:

After a training period you'll be assigned to one of our development team (Squads). Initial team assigned will be the one in charge of the settlement and deposit functionalities.

Task:

  • Producing clean, efficient code based on specifications
  • Testing and deploying programs and systems (Unit testing)

  • Providing workload estimation during Pi session and sprint planning.
