Infineon

Infineon Technologies Dresden GmbH & Co. KG
Infineon employs about 56,200 people worldwide from over 100 countries and is one of the leading companies in the semiconductor industry.

Infineon in Dresden is one of the most modern and largest sites for manufacturing, technology and product development, now around 3,500 employees. That makes Infineon Dresden one of the most important industrial employers in the region.

Innovative semiconductors
In addition to the existing chip production on 200mm silicon wafers, Infineon opened the world’s first high-volume factory for power semiconductors on 300mm wafers in Dresden in 2011. With this strategic decision, the group secured the site’s long-term future.

Today, Infineon Dresden manufactures over 400 different products based on 200mm and 300mm wafers for all four of the group’s segments – quickly and in top quality. Our products meet the highest security standards – something that is particularly important for security and chip card products as well as automotive products.

A strong signal for the future
The semiconductor manufacturer is stepping up the pace in expanding its semiconductor production capacities. Also at the Dresden site: With the construction of the new “Smart Power Fab”, the company is making the largest investment in its history. The starting point is the growing global demand for semiconductors – for example for applications to generate renewable energies, for use in data centers and for electromobility. With the construction of the “Smart Power Fab” for 300-millimeter wafers in Dresden, Infineon is creating the conditions to be able to meet the growing demand for semiconductor solutions.
