Team/division description:

Information systems (IS) is a truly Pan-European division with members in Toyota’s head office, manufacturing plants and country sales organizations. As IS, we contribute to every part of our business from vehicle design through A&F, manufacturing, purchasing to connected navigation and in-car services. The enterprise architecture (EA) department within Information Systems is responsible for supporting application development teams/projects with application, software and infrastructure architecture. EA also supports the developer community with collaboration, (software) development and testing tools. In addition, the team defines IT standards, reference architectures and technology roadmaps for major IT technologies such as cloud, business intelligence, identity management or mobile smartphone applications. Finally, the EA team is also responsible for master data management.


Your responsibilities:

As “Data & Standards Architect” you will support the definition of IT standards for application, software and infrastructure. You will help define technology roadmaps for phasing out old (legacy) IT technologies and phasing in new technologies; this activity will involve doing proof-of-concepts and collaboration with infrastructure and security teams to ensure new technologies fit within the overall landscape. You will establish and define reference architectures and help project architects and application teams to implement these architectures in their IT projects. In the area of data, you will be actively involved in the definition and implementation of master data management activities; both from a process point of view as well as from a technical implementation point of view. You help document and communicate about the EA standards through consultation and presentations.


Your profile:

You have a keen interest in new IT technologies (cloud, mobile, BI, data, AI) and follow closely the IT trends in software and application development. You ideally have had some experience in cutting edge software developments and practises and through this experience have grown or have very strong interest into a software architecture role. Understanding of EA methodologies (Zachman, TOGAF) is an asset but not a firm requirement. You love playing with new technologies, setting a path/roadmap for introducing them into Toyota and support their implementation in the Toyota organization.


You are Fluent in English (TME business language), stress resistant and team player.
You are a good communicator and capable of building consensus with other people in the organization.

You have a master Degree in Computer Science or civil engineer with IT specialization and good background / knowledge of (web) programming languages (e.g. Java, Javascript) and software architecture. Prior experience in an Enterprise Architecture Department is an asser but not mandatory.
